The Ashland EDC is looking for 2 new members from the community to serve on the committee.

Our mission is to:

• Enhance the vitality of our local economy by supporting existing businesses and attracting new business to Ashland
• Encouraging economic development consistent with the Ashland Master Plan and promoting the spirit of the Town

As a committee we will collaborate with the different departments in Ashland and in the region to help support the Ashland Selectboard and Planning Board in this mission.

The committee meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of each month at 5:30pm at 6 Collins Street in the conference room with the meetings lasting no more than 90 minutes.

All are welcome to attend the meetings either in person or by Zoom. Previous meeting recordings are available on the Ashland YouTube Account.

According to NH Revised Statutes Annotated Chapter 676:4,I(d) and the Town of Ashland Subdivision Regulations, it is required that the public be notified of a proposed change of use or development of land. You are hereby notified that an application for a Lot Line Adjustment for Tax Map 110-Lots 057, 059 and 060, owned by Shelly A. Thompson, Stacey Curdie, and Eversource (aka Public Service Company of NH), respectively, has been submitted to the Planning Board and will be reviewed by the Planning Board at its regular meeting on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 6:30 pm at the Utility Office, 6 Collins Street, Ashland. Upon a finding by the Board that the application meets submission requirements of the Subdivision Regulations, the Board will vote to accept the application as complete and a public hearing on the merits of the proposal will follow immediately. The proposal is to adjust the lot lines between the three lots with no new lots being created. Should a decision not be reached at the Public Hearing, this application will stay on the Planning Board’s agenda until such time as it is either approved or disapproved. TOWN OF ASHLAND

The Town of Ashland (the “Town”) will hold a public hearing on December 2, 2025 at 5:30pm at the Utility Conference Room at 6 Collins Street. The public hearing will address an article to be placed on the warrant for the upcoming December 9, 2025 Special Meeting of the Town. The purpose of such meeting is to cure procedural defects relating to a warrant article passed at the 2025 Special Meeting of the Town that authorized the issuance of $2,200,000 in bonds to finance repairs to the Ashland Electric Substation. Such procedural defects relate to the requirements to post the budget with the warrant, the timing and notice of the bond hearing, notice of the budget hearing and publication of the warrant.

2. To impose interest penalties on past due utility bills (Includes Electric, Water, Sewer and Septage Receiving) at 1.5% per month in accordance with RSA 41:9-a

The affected cheese curds were sold in half-pound packages at the Huckins Farm Store in New Hampton, New Hampshire and at the following retail locations:

Consumers who purchased these cheese curds should not eat them and instead throw them away. Huckins Farm has notified and instructed retailers to discard the recalled cheese curds. 

Pasteurization is a heating process that kills harmful germs. While there have been no reported illnesses associated with the recalled products, consuming cheese and other dairy products that are not fully pasteurized can pose a significant health risk, especially to young children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems.

We have been working on a better way to share video recordings for meetings held by our Boards & Committees. While we still work with Pemi-Baker TV who attend most meetings, we have also started using a video recording device to try to capture more meetings and allow for backup videos in the event one of the recordings fails.

We will still be using Pemi-Baker TV and they will continue to upload recordings to theirYouTube Channel

And we have started our own YouTube Channel @TownofAshland We are still in the process of updating our channel with all of the video recordings that we have done, check back for updates.

The Town of Ashland Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 5:30pm at 6 Collins Street to authorize the acceptance of grant funds for a Strategic Planning Grant for the Water Department from NHDES in the amount of $15,000 in accordance with RSA 31:95-b.

This grant is a 50/50 match for a total of $30,000. $15,000 to come from the Water Department Budget.

With the new year there are some important dates to be aware of…

January 2 - April 30: Time to register your dogs! To be able to register your dog, I will need a current rabies vaccination record.

January 21- 30: Is the filing period to put your name on the ballot for the open elected positions posted in the Town Hall and online for the March Town Election.

Absentee ballot applications are now available for the March Town Election. You can get them online or request them by phone, email or mail.

You are hereby notified that a Zoning Board of Adjustment Application for an Equitable Waiver of Dimensional Requirements for Tax Map 103-041, owned by Squam Bridge Landing, Inc., has been submitted to the Zoning Board of Adjustment and will be reviewed by the Zoning Board of Adjustment at its regular meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 6:30 pm at the Utility Office, 6 Collins Street, Ashland.  Upon a finding by the Board that the application meets submission requirements of the Zoning Ordinance, the Board will vote to accept the application as complete and a public hearing on the merits of the proposal will follow immediately.
